What to Expect From a Real Estate Drone Shoot in the Miami Valley

If you have never ordered aerial photos before, the process is simpler than you might expect. Here is what a typical shoot looks like for a home in Kettering, Springboro, or anywhere across the Miami Valley.

1. Booking and scheduling

You pick a package, share the address, and note any details — a specific feature to highlight, a deadline for the MLS, HOA quirks. We check the airspace (parts of Dayton sit under controlled airspace near the airport and Wright-Patt) and confirm a time, usually within a day or two.

2. The shoot

A shoot takes about 20–40 minutes on site. The pilot captures the home and lot from several altitudes and angles — a hero shot straight on, obliques that show depth, and top-downs that map the property. If video is part of the package, we add smooth reveal passes and a slow orbit.

3. How to prep the property

• Move cars out of the driveway and off the street in front.
• Roll trash bins into the garage.
• Tidy the yard — hoses coiled, toys and tools put away.
• Open the pool cover and turn on water features if you have them.
• Mornings and the “golden hour” before sunset light the property best.

4. Editing and delivery

Photos come back color-corrected and MLS-ready, typically within 24–48 hours. You get high-resolution files sized for both the MLS and social, so the listing can go live fast.
